The Hunt for the Perfect Benny

Obsessed with finding the perfect Hollandaise to go with the perfect Eggs Benedict, I will travel near and far (in Minnesota mostly) hunting and writing about the best and worst Benny's I encounter.

Tickles, Downtown Minneapolis. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this traditional Benny on the brunch menu and even more suprised that I liked the dish fairly well. The Hollandaise was good but I could tell it wasn’t fresh. The ham was not candian but it was still flavorful. English muffin was nice and crispy on the edges and the eggs were good but possibly a little on the overdone side. All it all it was average - good. I have to say however, the server made up for whatever shortcomings the Benny had with charm, wit and excellent attentiveness. I would go back just for another Sunday morning brunch with him!
